Sharon “Sam” Sakai-Miller is the Director of Technology Integration Services (formerly known as Educational and Information Technology) at the San Lorenzo Unified School District near Oakland, California. Her teacher-friendly book Innbio_picovation Age Learning: Empowering Students by Empowering Teachers was published by ISTE in January 2016. www.iste.org/innovationage

She taught for more than ten years and focused her energies on furthering educational technology ever since she witnessed how technology can enhance learning and teaching in ways not previously possible.

Sam’s passion is working with teachers and providing a broad range of professional development topics. This year she and her team developed a system of badges to motivate teachers to delve into tech integration topics of interest collaboratively, independently, or casually.

Sam has served at three Bay Area County Offices of Education and as a curriculum coordinator for math, science, and instructional technology. As an educational consultant, Sam presented in 18 states and published the MentorToGo Technology Literacy Kit for Teachers. She is a graduate of Pepperdine University’s Online Master of Arts in Educational Technology and Doctoral Program for Educational Technology.
